
Dr. Hanson was born and raised in the Twin Cities Area. In his free time, he enjoys spending it with his family and friends, listening to and writing music of all kinds, and video games when time permits.
Dr. Hanson received his baccalaureate degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota. He attended medical school at Nova Southeastern Medical School in Fort Lauderdale, FL and completed his residency at The University Hospital and Medical Center in Tamarac, FL.
Dr. Hanson has over 7 years of experience working in the mental healthcare field and is board certified in psychiatry. He has a special interest in the field of addiction medicine and is an active member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He has experience with utilizing Suboxone, Ketamine, TMS, ECT, and Clozaril (REMS Certified) in addition to more typical forms of medication management. He has worked in many different settings, including inpatient facilities, residential facilities, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, and outpatient settings. This experience has given him a keen understanding of how all these levels of treatment and treatment modalities can be used to optimize a custom and holistic approach to his patients’ care.
